Armed Robbery at Lafayette Ambassador in Emmaus, Police Say

The Lafayette Ambassador Bank robbed Monday is along a stretch of State Street in Emmaus where there have been other bank robberies in recent years.

Police are investigating an armed bank robbery Monday morning at Lafayette Ambassador Bank, 402 State St., Emmaus, according to a statement released by the Emmaus Police Department.

The robbery happened at 10:07 a.m., police say, when one man entered the bank with a handgun and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police say no one was injured in the bank, which remained closed at 1 p.m. Monday.

Emmaus Police were assisted by the FBI, state police, the police departments of Salisbury, Macungie and Lower Milford, as well as the Upper Macungie Police Department K-9 Unit, the release says. 
 
The bank is along a stretch of State Street in Emmaus where there have been other bank robberies in recent years, including at Lafayette Ambassador Bank.
