ReplySign this woman up to teach "proper" parenting courses to all of the now becoming usefull idiot close to becoming wards of the state. She could become a teacher of Mommy Gubmint techniques. As long as Big Brother 24/7 video eye is on the watch, who's to care?
Now project this behavior out twenty years from now. Societal norms are changing so fast that who knows what new behavioral surprises will await us around the next permissive and excusable corner? Common sense and the Golden Rule is being rapidly replaced with universal rights minus any sense of responsibility.
I can't wait to read the first post lambasting me... Have at it.

Yep, I recall my day with Joshua Tree as well. They took a tree down, dropped a huge out of control slice of trunk, it landed smack dab on a sidewalk square and pulverized it into about a dozen pieces. Did they pay to fix it? (You're supposed to lay a few already downed branches and trunks as a cushion so that this sort of thing does not happen). Joshua tree never acknowledged my request to have the sidewalk damage that they created fixed. Even after their foreman told me that they had screwed up and had ruined it and that the boss would have it fixed. Uh huh... Nice guys... I got stuck with the bill since it was now, according to the city, a pedestrian safety hazard. But then I'm ruining the tree hugging feature story, aren't I?

ReplyRead the article...again. Now we need an arborist to show us how to climb a tree. Only in today's society. Next we'll have Len Frenkel showing us what parts of the tree to eat on our way up our little climb... I remember my first tree climb, there wasn't an arborist in sight or a tree hugger. ...seriously...

ReplyThese are the new productive members of our society that youth look up to... Nice pearls...
I am sure that all of the necessary hand gun laws were legally consulted... Someone, surely find a racist element in this... I don't know...the perp looks like an overweight Klingon to me. Would that be insensitive to intergalactic aliens?

ReplyMike B. tis true the behavior is never ending and it really doesn't have to relate at all to racism...hmmm, maybe ignorance though. No mention of race was called out in my post, merely the degree of bad mojo that seems to befall this area of the city. Why would you call out "racism". Something on your mind?

This is the more "gentle" underbelly side of town... Add in such nearby streets like Hilton, Livingston, Fritz, and a few other nearby wonderfully advanced turf zones and viola, you've got a whole company of police commissioned for such gentile behaviors. Count how many times Bethlehem police scream their sirens up Pembroke road on their way to reward some local cretin for exemplary behavior... Now why is that? This like the whole city of Allentown packed tightly into one gubmint project on the east side of Betlum. Sad, but never ending...

ReplyLet the PA Turnpike Commission fund it from their political coffers... They seem to have a lot of walking around money..or in this case, standing around and leaning around money. But moving that function to PennDOT? Does that improve anything?
Maybe the DRJTBC can add an air of open honesty and trust?

Best thing to do is to lightly ignore most of these websites. They're sometimes good to get a general lay of the housing stock in a given area, but their pricing estimates can be about as out to lunch as can be. Seriously? They use some sort of formula? How accurate can that be by the specific property?
I get updates telling me interested properties have moved up or down by a percentage or two which is pure BS since the price bases are not even close to what anyone would pay. They're good for chuckles. Sometimes the actual home descriptions are out to lunch as well. Use with caution. We sold a relative's home, it had been previously professionally appraised, and looked at the Zillow and Trulia prices.. Laughably low. The house sold at the appraised value.
Realtor.com at least informs you easily of local open houses, new for sale properties, etc. Zillow is good for general info, nothing more. As long as you know that their pricing is just a bogus guess, using it for assessing the general market works.
