I am a (mostly) self-taught, part-time artist who works primarily in oil. As far as my subjects go, I do truly prefer to paint ‘moments’ in lieu of ‘portraits,’ as I find full-face portraiture to be something outside of my artistic abilities (unfortunately) but–in the end–it all really depends upon the photo.
