Cindy, downtown Easton has a bit more to offer than just restaurants and the state theater. There are restaurants, sure, but there are museums, the Crayola Factory and store, a whole number of shops and services, offices and more. Personally I am not in favor of another garage, but to say the city is not promoting business seems a bit out of touch with reality.

I think that space would be much better off with a little re-design for additional spaces and some landscaping. A few trees or shrubs in the lot to make the city greener would be much nicer than additional garage space. Lights to make it friendly and safe at night. The city should work with the owner of the lot rather than take it over.

Yes they should re-instate the personnel they had checking in visitors and making sure no one gets in and out of school unsupervised.
They shouldn't be armed though in my opinion. Seeing armed police roam the building this week doesn't make me feel safer, it makes me feel worry more that someone could be in the building.

  • On the article Will New Meters Keep You Away From Easton?

    Katja Kruppe

Parking is free on weekends for the holidays, that's great. But the new meters also replaces old meters that previously accepted dimes for shorter periods and now the meter does not warn you that it ONLY accepts quarters or the card. It swallowed two of my dimes outside a coffee shop before I realized it no longer accepted that, so I end up paying 45 cents just for a quick trip inside to grab a coffee and run again. I do think that it will stop people from making those quick trips more often. In a way that is a shame because these quick trips are the ones that usually are daily rituals while the random shopping trip is much less frequent and a higher rate does not matter to me at that point.
I am also curious how the card meters work for a 2h parking period? There aren't any buttons on the meter to chose a time, or did I just not notice them?

I think by 4th grade these kids have learned about 9/11 for 4 years in a row and can handle actual images from the events. I am certain that they all have seen them in passing on TV, as every year when the date comes close, these images are all over the news again. Internet, newspapers, tv shows and news. Don't think that your kids have never seen them and most of all, don't rely on school to be the only ones to explain them.
I have discussed the subject many times with my son and we've visited Ground Zero and the WTC memorial, many other children younger than 4th grade have.

I do think that the parents should have been advised of this plan to show footage before hand so they could speak up or not send their child in that day. Though not one parent should have expected to send their kid off to school on 9/11 without them hearing or learning something more about it. It is this countries history and the most recent one they will still feel the effects from in their lifetime.

I don't quite understand why parents would be afraid to speak up to the school if they were upset.

Non-citizen also pay taxes and into social security. There are many non-citizen in the country that have lived here legally for decades. Not every country allows for dual citizenship, so some prefer to hold onto their original citizenship.

See, even the person who wished he had been because he did not want to be subjected to the jokes, ultimately decided against it. His experience should have been the prime example of why not to do it.
Also, in Germany and most of Europe, boys are generally not circumcised. My family definitely questioned my decision.

One of the very few things I regret in life is having allowed my son to be circumcised. I agree with the court's decision and in no way does it rule out the procedure for medical reasons, which should be the only reason for it to ever be considered.
It also only applies in the jurisdiction where the court ruling was made in.
When I had to make the decision, there was a number of forms to sign to waive liability for the doctor, I wish there would have been more educational material and true facts and statistics presented. Parents are given so much information leading up to giving birth but circumcision facts are not part of that . You think you make a reasonably informed decision that your child will benefit from for the rest of his life just to later realize it was truly not necessary.

Never tried pizza at Sette Luna, I would think it's probably great but "grown up" pizza. We love Colonial's upside down pie and up in south side we enjoy Tommy's.
