ReplyAs a parent, you've done the right thing for your children . They apparently understand they cannot depend on all drivers to yield . They have taken responsibility for their safety by depending on THEMSELVES for their safety. if you depend on the rest of the world for their safety, you will ultimately be disappointed. Reinforce your warning to them regularly.

It sounds like you are suggesting that a person who legally + legitmately owned guns for their entire life and never caused a problem or issue is a crazed gun owner. Did I misinterpret?

ReplyCould we ASK the railroad to make one more round of repairs to the High St Bridge to make it safe for use for a year? That would help a little.

ReplyThe Hellertown pool is truly a great resource for residents. We watch as other localities neglect or downsize their community pools. We appreciate the efforts by officials and pool staff to maintain this pool in its present form. Thank you

Andrew, you're just WRONG. I could say it in different ways with 3-4 paragraphs but I won't waste time trying explain again. Your math is bad, your judgement is bad and you avoided my specific questions. I've been called a lot of things but never lazy. The complaints by those of us who actually live here are mostly legitimate. The PTB have been listening and have been making adjustments. We expect more adjustments and , unfortunately, more problems. I genuinely feel sorry for those in the Ravena St area and families with a few kids that are forced to make many trips per day through the area. I try hard to limit mine. I have been using my bicycle when it is practical. If you can look at your map, perhaps you could tell a lazy guy like me how to go downhill all of the time?

Wilfredo. You're wrong again. Your "participation" doesn't "bother me" . It is your OVER PARTICIPATION that wears thin. It's like being in a conversation where 1 person does all of the talking.

Not so. Even us Neanderthals can learn. Just keep giving us the same bull over + over + over and we'll get it. After all, we have finally come down from the trees. It just took a while.

ReplyTo travel the 4 blocks from ground zero to the entrances to 1-78, Vassis, Wendys or other businesses that were are used to using on a regular basis, you would take which streets? travel how far? take how long? You obviously don't live in the affected area. These streets are nowhere near as passable as they were before this mess.. Some of them are ONE LANE (not 1 lane in each direction). . "Surely it can be avoided" ?? Not if you live at ground zero. It sounds like you are suggesting a 45 minute 4 mile detour to travel 4 blocks. How would a person get from Hess Ave to Rt 78? A map and reality are sometimes different. . It's great that you found a way AROUND the area. We can't do that. Especially those who live between the Saucon Creek and 412 on the North end of town. And this doesn't address the effect it has on local businesses.

Today I watched the Dewey ambulance try to go north on a jammed 412. It makes no difference if you blow your siren and flash your lights, when the street is clogged, cars can't yield for the emergency vehicle if there is no place to go. This goes beyond inconvenience. It is a safety issue.
