When hospital was 3-yrs.-old, I took undercover job to rate for emergency medical. Original hospital, one of first 40 trauma centers in U.S, was built using blueprints of another, in TN, to save money.
Although looked great 'on paper,' started out rough. Opened to fully, to fast, likely to start paying of the cost. Employees were constantly fighting over litters & portable oxygen, etc. "It's not my job description," was the word of the day.
However, I think after all these years it's much improved, and a favorite, along w/ T. Jefferson in Phila. The one thing really killing both L.V.H.C. & St. Lukes is all the computer logging. Both doctors and nurses really hate it, and have left, or just stayed demoralized, as a result. Patient care suffering.
