Pennsylvania state police at the Bethlehem barracks were trying to locate sleds used by the U.S. Luge Team after the equipment fell off a truck and was picked up by someone on Feb. 15. The team, based in Lake Placid, N.Y., was training on a Lehigh Valley ski slope last week and was on the way back to a hotel. The rear door of a truck carrying their sleds was not securely fastened and fell open. On Friday state police reported the luges were recovered. Two Pennsylvania state troopers were honored -- one of them posthumously -- at the White House Wednesday for rescuing a 9-year-old Nazareth boy kidnapped at gunpoint by his father. A Delaware County woman fatally stabbed her husband Monday because she allegedly had caught him looking at child pornography, according to court records and an article on the Huffington Post. Police were called to the Nether Providence Township home of former Penn hoops star Matthew White, only to find him stabbed in the neck and his wife Maria Rey Garcia-Pellon. A year-long corruption investigation culminated in the arrest of 20 people in connection with the theft of more than $1.5 million from the Bensalem School District, police announced Tuesday. Investigators made the arrests following two separate probes into alleged misdoings involving district staff. One probe focused on “ghost employees,” the other on theft and illegal …

A woman escaped injury when she was able to get out of her car before it got hit by a train Tuesday morning. She mistakenly drove onto railroad tracks and her car stalled around 6:30 a.m., according to reports by WFMZ and Lehigh Valley Live. A thief walked away from Zionsville Antique Mall without paying for an old 'piggy bank' shaped like a kitten, state troopers reported. The cast-iron piggy bank was stolen from a booth between 3:07 and 3:29 p.m. Jan. 29 in the Zionsville Antique Mall at 7567 Chestnut St., Upper Milford.  In the last 10 months, Brian Simmons of Fountain Hill has crossed paths with police three times. In April, he was allegedly at the scene of a West Ward homicide, and was himself shot and stabbed.  In September, he was …

  An Allentown School District substitute teacher who lives in Coopersburg was charged Wednesday with sexually assaulting a 9-year-old student at Union Terrace Elementary School. Michael James Agrippine, 47, of 6881 Main St., Coopersburg, is charged with aggravated indecent assault, a first-degree felony; institutional sexual assault, a third-degree felony, and indecent assault, a misdemeanor of the first degree. A 50-year-old Easton woman is accused of swinging a partially opened Samurai sword at her boyfriend, causing injuries to his head and face.
