'Spiderman 2' to Feature Emmaus Grad Dane DeHaan

Emmaus High School grad Dane DeHaan has landed a great role in 'Spiderman 2.'

Dane DeHaan says he's working out six days a week and eating 3,000 calories a day to bulk up for his role as Harry Osborn in "Spiderman 2." The Emmaus High School graduate is prepping for his new role after scoring a cameo in Steven Spielberg's Civl War epic "Lincoln." Production on "Spiderman 2" started about two weeks ago and DeHaan will begin shooting his scenes soon, according to MovieWeb. The movie is scheduled to open in May 2014 and stars Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Shailene Woodley, Sally Field, Dane DeHaan, Andrew Garfield, Martin Sheen, Felicity Jones. The 2013 Academy Awards Sunday night will have a touch of Lehigh Valley Leading the Oscar race is Steven Spielberg's "Lincoln," which has 12 nominations. The Civil War epic features a cameo appearance by a Lehigh Valley native who's a rising young actor. Dane DeHaan was born in Allentown and raised in Zionsville near Emmaus, according to a Morning Call report, which says DeHaan's "Lincoln" cameo comes early in the film as a Union soldier. DeHaan graduated from Emmaus High School, according to Wikipedia. Newspaper Covering Lincoln’s Death Cost $800

Emmaus resident collects newspapers published at times of presidential assassinations.

Several people brought newspapers and articles to St. John’s Lutheran Church last month for the appraisal event sponsored by the Emmaus Historical Society. Most were not in good condition and not of great value.  Charles Moyer, auctioneer and appraiser for Alderfer’s Auction and Appraisal, Hatfield said very few newspaper articles are worth anything, unless they would be of a presidential assassination, for example, and that would need to be the day of or the next day. Then, along came Larry Kratzer of Emmaus. He had an issue of a Rhode Island newspaper dated April 16, 1865, and it was in very good condition.  Kratzer purchased the paper with Lincoln’s death announced in large, bold print across the front for $800.  Moyer however, valued …
