More than 60 Lehigh Valley employers with hundreds of job opportunities will be at the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks today for the “Putting the Lehigh Valley Back to Work Job Fair.” Brush up your resume and bring it with you from 1 to 7 p.m. for the job fair, which is being sponsored by CAT Country 96, 100.7 WLEV, Embassy Bank of the Lehigh Valley and the Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem. Employers include national companies, local businesses, non-profit organizations and staffing agencies. Earlier this year, cases of whooping cough were reported in Salisbury School District and also in Saucon Valley School District. A a student at Easton's March Elementary School also was diagnosed with the iillness. But is seems that these reported instances of whooping cough only tell a small part of the story. According to a report by WFMZ, local health officials say the number of whooping cough cases in the Lehigh Valley region is higher than it's been in years. "For every confirmed case, we probably have boatload more that haven't been detected yet," the Allentown Health Bureau's Vicky Kistler told the TV station. The U.S. Small Business Administration will join a coalition of economic development organizations on March 20 to present the Lehigh Valley Lender Match and Business Resources Expo. This “one-stop” event is designed to spark lending and business development relationships across the region. The free-of-charge event will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. at the ArtsQuest Center at Steelstacks, 101 Founders Way, Bethlehem. The lender match portion of the event will allow entrepreneurs a series of 10-minute periods to pitch their financing needs to a variety of lenders in one-on-one meetings before presenting to the next lender. Freedom Patriots lose to the Emmaus Green Hornets Friday night in a tight Lehigh Valley Conference Basketball Championship game.
Emmaus beat Freedom 47-44 in a close Lehigh Valley Conference Championship game Friday night Allen High School's Milo Sewards Gym. Emmaus hasn't won a league championship in five years. This win makes the Green Hornets (21-3) the No. 1 seed in the District 11 Class 4A playoffs. Freedom finished the season 20-4.

New report puts accumulation predictions higher than original prediction.
It's time to get the snow boots out, folks. According to Lehigh Valley Weather Patrol, the Lehigh Valley can expect between 2 and 6 inches of precipitation in the form of snow and sleet over the weekend. The snow is predicted to begin overnight tonight and continue through Saturday. Weather Underground and Accuweather have similar predictions. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch, in effect until 7pm Saturday. If a storm develops, it will be the first winter weather of the season, not including the October snowstorm that left the valley blanketed in over 6 inches of snow.
