Candidates for 134th House Seat Receive Questionnaire
Patch has sent questionnaires to the candidates vying for the open 134th District House seat in the April Special Election, as well as the candidates in the Republican primary.
Voters in the 134th District will have several decisions in front of them when they enter the voting booth on April 24. First, they will choose in a Special Election a candidate to fill the House seat that has been open since Doug Reichley left the legislature for the judicial branch in January. In that race, Democratic candidate Patrick Slattery of Lower Macungie is facing off against Republican nominee Ryan MacKenzie of South Whitehall. The winner of the Special Election will serve the remaining seven months of Reichley's term. Republican voters will also be asked to choose a candidate to run for the 134th House seat in the General Election in November. why did these candidates get the questionaires so late? Seriously there is less than a week between when we will get to see their answers and the elections! what if we have follow-up questions? what if a person is busy those few days and doesnt have time to review the answers?
