Rising Gas Prices Have Hit Emmaus

Gas prices are up across the country this week and the 18049 zip code is no exception.

OK, Emmaus Patch, we’ve got bad news and then even more bad news for you when it comes to filling up your gas tank this week. Prices nationally are up. And, they're up a lot. Prices in Pennsylvania are up too. According to AAA’s Fuel Gauge Report, the national average for a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline went up 16.9 cents from a week ago to $3.533 and the Pennsylvania average increased 13.7 cents to $3.670. The Lehigh Valley average is on-par with the rest of the country, spiking 13.7 cents since last week and hitting $3.532 per gallon. Now for the really bad news: Gas prices in the 18049 zip code have jumped this week too, showing prices anywhere from 6 to 9 cents above the Lehigh Valley average price, according to gasbuddy.com. …

Find the Cheapest gas in Emmaus Patch

After several weeks of a downward trend, the average price for a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Pennsylvania is $3.533, up 4.2 cents from a week ago. This rise, however, is less than half of the nearly 14-cent increase during the same period last year, according to AAA’s Fuel Gauge Report. Prices have risen largely because of higher crude oil prices. The national average price of a gallon of self-serve regular is $3.364, up 5.4 cents, while the average in the Lehigh Valley is $3.532, up 5.3 cents from last week. On Tuesday night, according to gasbuddy.com, prices in Emmaus Patch were running slightly lower than the Lehigh Valley average, with the best price for regular in the 18049 zip code found at the Sunoco at 4090 Chestnut St…

There’s still good news for those smarting from the pain we’ve all been feeling as we’ve pulled up to the gas pump over the last year or so – gas prices are down a smidge from where they were last week, according to gasbuddy.com And, once again, you can fill up your tank for less in Emmaus than you can in the rest of the state and in other parts of the Lehigh Valley. Wednesday night, the Gas Buddy Web site listed the average price of a gallon of regular gas in the United States as $3.286. The average price in Pennsylvania came up about 20 cents higher, at $3.481 per gallon. Last night, the current average price of a gallon of gas in Allentown was $3.471. …
