Someone makes 47 transactions in Tokyo worth $593.08 at Upper Milford man's expense, troopers report.
An Upper Milford Township credit card holder went on a shopping spree on Feb. 1; he just wishes he had the goods and the good times to prove it. And, he probably wishes he could remember visiting Tokyo, where the money was spent. Instead, he was back home in the Lehigh Valley while someone else was running up his charges overseas, according to police. Awareness began for the 59-year-old resident of the 5300 block of Alan Circle with a telephone call from his bank's fraud department, according to state police at Fogelsville. They told him that multiple fraudulent transactions had been made on his account. Multiple transactions turned out to be 47, police said. But fortunately, the total spent was $593.08. A Zionsville-area woman recently reported her personal information was compromised when several unauthorized purchases were made with her credit card, according to police. Donna Leibensperger, 57, of 4902 Wendi Drive E. on Nov. 8 reported that her credit card was used three times without her approval, according to state police at Fogelsville. The purchase amounts were not released. The incidents are being investigated as a case of access device fraud, police said.

After one successful withdrawal, man is denied on second attempt, police say.
An Emmaus-area man suddenly acquired a spending habit he didn't even know he had. Fortunately, electronic bank records put a stop to it. As it turned out, someone stole the identity of the 53-year-old, according to state police at Fogelsville. Were it not for banking procedures, the man or his bank could have been out $6,500. Trouble began with a successful $3,000 withdrawal Aug. 1 from an unspecified Wells Fargo Bank branch, police said. A false Pennsylvania driver's license was used by a man described as being 35-50, black, about 6 feet tall with short hair and wearing glasses. The next day, the same man attempted to withdraw $3,500 from the same bank account but at a Wells Fargo Bank in Bala Cynwyd, Montgomery County, police said. This …
