Here are some highlights of what's happening in the East Penn School District this week.
Jordan who? Doesn’t matter if you know. What matters is that the kids at Lower Macungie Middle School know. Author Jordan Sonnenblik will be on hand at LMMS Monday and Tuesday. East Penn squares off against East Penn. Eyer Middle School will meet LMMS on the LMMS softball field at 4 p.m. Monday. Sign on the dotted line, please. It’s time for the Spring National Letter of Intent Signing, from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday in the Emmaus High School Auditorium. Who doesn’t enjoy a good volley? The Eyer boys volleyball team will meet the Nazarath Middle School Team at Eyer at 4 p.m. Thursday. May I have this dance? The EHS Junior Prom is scheduled for Saturday from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. at the Roadway Inn & Conference Center in South Whitehall.

Be There or Be Square. East Penn School Board meets Monday night at 7:30 in the District Administrative Offices. 4th-Graders are on Their Own. The Alburtis Elementary School Homework Club meets from 3:30 to 4:30 on Tuesday, but this week, it’s only for 3rd and 5th graders. Fourth-graders aren’t invited this time around! Can’t Get Your Fill of Chick-Fil-A? Then be sure to come out and support Eyer Middle School’s 8th-graders for Chick-Fil-A Spirit Night from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday. Sadie Who? That’s right, it’s that time of year again. Middle schoolers from Eyer will pay homage to the time-honored tradition in which the girls ask the boys to the school dance. Did they mind their Ps & Qs? Well, this is the week that elementary school parents will find out. It’s Parent-Teacher Conference Week. That means early dismissal for grades K-5 and an extra bit of insanity for elementary school parents. Where there’s conferences, there’s book fairs. At least at Alburtis and Lincoln elementary schools. So, if you are in the market for some easy reading for some elementary school kids in your life, these are the places to go shopping this week. Eyer Softball Battles on Home Turf. Eyer Middle School softball takes on Nitschmann Middle School at 4 p.m. Tuesday. Beantown or Bust. The Eyer Student Council heads to Boston Wednesday to Friday. Here are some highlights of what's happening in East Penn School District this week.
Not boring, just Board. The East Penn School Board meets Monday at 7:30 p.m. in the District Administration Building. Stay tuned for Patch coverage. There will be a lot of authorized gum chewing going on. That’s because it’s PSSA Week in East Penn, which means many kids in grades 3 through 8 will be taking state standardized testing. And, one way some teachers help the kids to concentrate, is by letting them chew gum during the tests. A Big Double Header on Tuesday Night. First, the Jefferson Elementary School PTO meeting meets at 6:30 p.m., followed by Lincoln Elementary School PTO at 7 p.m. Blondes will be taking center stage at the high school. Here are some highlights of what's happening in East Penn School District this week.
East Penn School District and its schools are closed Monday. School will be back in session on Tuesday. Keep your fingers crossed, Eyer Middle School volleyball lovers! The student-teacher volleyball game rescheduled from Feb. 26 and March 7 is set to take place on Wednesday from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. if all goes well. In desperate need of a smencil? Head over to Wescosville Elementary School on Thursday morning for the PTO smencil sale. Thursday marks the end of the third marking period, so get ready to check those report cards. Alburtis Elementary second-graders will be star struck on Friday afternoon when they head to the planetarium.

Ever wondered what it’s like to be part of a Board of Directors? There’s an opportunity to check out what happens at an East Penn School District School Board meeting Monday night at 7:30 in the District Administration Building. Enjoy a good volley? Head over to Eyer Middle School at 4 p.m. Wednesday for the Eyer – Easton volleyball game and you could be pleasantly surprised. Cancel the plans you made for the little ones on Thursday. They’ll be in school on March 28. It’s a snow make-up day. Make plans for the little ones on Friday. They’ll be home from school for spring break. And, here’s a freebie for next week – spring break continues through Monday, so the kids will be home on April 1, too.
