Someone makes 47 transactions in Tokyo worth $593.08 at Upper Milford man's expense, troopers report.
An Upper Milford Township credit card holder went on a shopping spree on Feb. 1; he just wishes he had the goods and the good times to prove it. And, he probably wishes he could remember visiting Tokyo, where the money was spent. Instead, he was back home in the Lehigh Valley while someone else was running up his charges overseas, according to police. Awareness began for the 59-year-old resident of the 5300 block of Alan Circle with a telephone call from his bank's fraud department, according to state police at Fogelsville. The following information regarding Upper Milford Township incidents was released by state police at Fogelsville.
Theft: Reported by Isaiah Slonaker of 7125 Carls Hill Road; wood removed from in front of his home between Feb. 11 and 13, police said. Criminal mischief: Reported by Adam Samuel Thomson of the 6900 block of Tollgate Road; several holes cut in one vehicle tire between 6:30 p.m. Jan. 30 and 8:15 a.m. Jan. 31 at the address, police said; $50 estimated loss. Attempted burglary: Reported by Benjamin Steager at 4359 S. Fifth St.; home entered between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Feb. 13, police said; nothing known to be taken.

Ipod, xbox, satellite radio among items taken in two separate Jan. 24 incidents in Emmaus, police report.
The Emmaus Police Department released the following recent incidents pertaining to the borough: Reported Jan. 24, 2013. Burglary. In the 100 block of Main Street, an apartment door was forced open some time between 7:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 24. An iPod with docking station, an xbox 360 and numerous games valued at about $450 were taken. Reported Jan. 24, 2013. Theft. A Sirius satellite radio valued at $200 was taken from a parked vehicle in 300 block of Main Street overnight on Jan. 24.

Overnight, three vehicles were entered in the area of S. 12th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue. Stolen were a GPS unit, 2 iPods, a watch and a handicap placard. Reported Jan. 6, 2013. Burglary. 55-year-old man is listed as a suspect in theft from home, troopers report.
An Upper Milford Township woman recently reported several pieces of jewelry taken from her home, according to police. The unnamed 57-year-old woman said the jewelry was taken between Dec. 21 and Jan. 12 from her 5854 Schantz Road home, according to state police at Fogelsville. No value was given. Police noted a 55-year-old man as a suspect, but did not name him or say that charges have been filed. They ask that anyone with information call them at 610-395-1438.

Thief grabs three vehicle jacks and 20 gallons of fuel from the Upper Milford towing and repair shop, troopers report.
Someone visiting an Upper Milford vehicle towing and repair business recently took along some tools of the trade and topped the trip off by taking 20 gallons of fuel, according to police. This weekend, sometime between 11 p.m. Jan. 4 and 10 a.m. Jan. 6, someone visited Mechanics Plus Towing and Transport Inc. at 4701 Colebrook Ave., according to state police at Fogelsville. The person found three jacks to his/her liking inside tow trucks and removed them. Each was valued at $125. Police said 20 gallons of fuel, valued at about $75, also were taken. A burglar apparently was scared off recently when he realized residents were home at the Upper Milford Township house he was attempting to enter, according to police. James Effting called police after his wife told him that she heard a door open to their Main Road W. home about 6:30 a.m. Dec. 20, according to state police at Fogelsville. She searched inside and out but saw no one. A further check of the residence determined that nothing had been disturbed or taken, police said. This much we know about one particular credit card thief: He or she smokes and likes to chew gum. Police may know more. Presuming the Upper Milford Township mini-market where fraudulent purchases recently were attempted had a surveillance camera, they may even have the suspect's description. But for now, we're likely just talking about a gum-chewing smoker. According to state police at Fogelsville, someone attempted to make a credit card purchase at 5:01 p.m. Dec. 8 at the Hess station, 4002 Chestnut St. The person wanted to buy two cartons of cigarettes and a pack of gum totaling $121.84. Tranquility Tree Farm in Upper Milford reports business sign stolen, troopers say.
Not everything is peaceful these days at Tranquility Tree Farm in Upper Milford Township. First, it has the bustle of the holiday season. That's a good thing. But recently, the business' sign was stolen from along the roadway, according to state police at Fogelsville. That's not a good thing, especially if the business wants to be found in time to sell Christmas trees. The sign, nearly 6 feet tall, is shaped like a Christmas tree and has on it the business name, police said. It was taken between 5 p.m. Dec. 10 and 7 a.m. Dec. 11 from the exit area of the driveway at 5563 Acorn Drive. Want to be on Santa's good list this year? The Emmaus Police Department released the following recent incidents pertaining to the borough: Reported Dec. 4. Theft of a large quantity of tools from a vehicle in the 500 block of Green Street. Reported Dec. 9. Theft from nine vehicles in the 700 block of Donald Drive, the 700, 800 and 1200 blocks of Macungie Avenue, the 300 and 500 blocks of Franklin Street, the 600 and 700 blocks of Harrison Street, and the 700 block of Frank Drive. All of the vehicles were unlocked and most had petty change removed with the exception of one vehicle, from which a television was removed.
