More Summer Events Planned in Emmaus

The Emmaus Special Entertainment Commission has beefed up its traditional summer program with a variety of new events stretching from May through September.

First Annual "Bluegrass" Festival Kicks-off at Noon Today

The Emmaus Special Entertainment Commission is hosting “Bluegrass in the Park,” a festival of music, food and family fun in Emmaus Community Park from noon to 7 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 30.

Non-residents may Soon be Allowed on Borough Commissions

Emmaus Borough Council gives initial approval at the Sept. 17 council meeting to a measure that would allow non-borough residents to serve on Arts, Parks & Recreation, Special Entertainment and Shade Tree commissions.

The Borough of Emmaus has taken the first steps toward opening itself up to outsiders – at least as far as serving on four borough volunteer commissions is concerned. Emmaus Borough Council approved on first reading at its Sept. 17 meeting a resolution that would allow non-borough residents to serve on the Arts, Parks & Recreation, Special Entertainment and Shade Tree commissions. In the past the borough has had a tough time filling openings on these groups. Councilman Mike Waddell, whose General Administration committee proposed the measure, said that during his tenure on the Arts Commission, he can only think of one time that all 11 slots were filled and that was for a period lasting about a month. “I fully support this,” he said. “It’s …

Name: Terence Cawley Where do you live? Emmaus What activities are you involved with as an Emmaus High School student? "I am an active member of Key Club and managing editor of sports for the school newspaper, The Stinger. I play violin in the orchestra, and I run varsity cross country and track."
