Kevin L. Good, 51, is charged with simple assault and harassment after a fight in the Coopersburg Social Hall.
An Emmaus man is charged with simple assault and harassment in an incident at the Coopersburg Social Hall. Police were dispatched to the social hall Jan. 19, a Saturday, at 3:40 p.m. for a "disturbance." According to the criminal complaint, when police arrived they found Good in the parking lot of the hall "intoxicated and agitated about the fight." Inside the social hall they located Good's wife bleeding from her nose and crying. When asked, the victim said that her husband hit her in the nose. Witnesses at the bar confirmed that Good struck her in the face with his elbow. Good was released on $5,000 bail. An initial "no contact" order placed on Good was lifted by the district attorney's office.

Boyfriend is charged with simple assault in incident at Upper Milford Township home, troopers report.
There are bad break-ups in relationships and then there are really bad break-ups. A bad break-up crossed into the very bad category if at no other time than at about 11:30 p.m. Jan. 21 at an Upper Milford Township home. According to state police at Fogelsville, that's when a 41-year-old woman was kicked, punched and choked. Police said that's what Daryl Lenig, 37, of Macungie did to his ex-girlfriend at 4754 Vera Cruz Road. According to scanner transmissions, an ambulance was called to the residence, but police did not say whether she was injured. Lenig fled the home, but police said a simple assault charge was brought against him. Court records show that a harassment charge was added.

An arrest warrant is issued for man who drove at the pair at high speed, police say.
State police are looking for a 34-year-old man they say endangered two women Sunday in Upper Milford Township when he drove at them and nearly hit both with his vehicle. An arrest warrant has been issued for Thomas Laird Morris of Upper Milford for the 5:57 p.m. incident, according to state police at Fogelsville. Police gave few details in their report, including the relationship of those involved and what provoked the alleged incident, but Morris drove at high speed, they said. They were told that Morris nearly hit Maureen Stauffer, 56, and Jeanette Shoemaker, 28, both of Upper Milford, at 4109 Ford Drive. Police classified the incident as simple assault.

Burglar steals piping from nearby residences, police say.
A burglar recently took a shine to copper piping inside two Emmaus residences and removed a total of about $5,000 worth, according to borough police. The theft was reported June 4 from two unoccupied homes at 17 and 21 Main St., police said. Copper and other scrap metals have been particular targets of thieves who look to turn a quick buck through resale at scrapyards. It is nice to know the PA State Police are trying to keep the public informed about these events. I have recently looked on the Emmaus Website and the police blotter is updated to March 2012. Is it possible for the residents to have more current information?
