Antique Mall Burglarized for Second Time in 11 Days

Someone walked out of the Zionsville Antique Mall in Upper Milford Township and took two thermometers without paying, police say.

The thermometers sold at the Zionsville Antique Mall are a hot commodity these days—at least that’s true of the two thermometers that someone recently picked up from a shelf in the mall and then walked out of the building without paying, according to police. The two thermometers were stolen from a booth in the Zionsville Antique Mall at 7567 Chestnut St. at 3 p.m. Feb. 9, state police at Fogelsville said. No value was given. Police classified the incident as a retail theft. This is the second time that the mall has been robbed recently. A cast iron “piggy bank” was taken on Jan. 29, according to police.

Police: Same Shoplifters 'Hit' Giant on Consecutive Days

After taking nearly $170 in merchandise from the Lower Macungie store the first day, two of the three returned to drive away with more the next, troopers say.

Customer loyalty is one thing, but this is the kind of repeat business a retail establishment doesn't need. State police at Fogelsville said three people -- a man and woman in their 20s or 30s -- plus a 54-year-old man listed as being from Allentown placed some items worth $169.69 in reusable shopping bags between 2:11 and 2:30 p.m. Dec. 21. They left the 7150 Hamilton Blvd. store without paying. The next day, between 5:30 and 5:50, the two men returned to the store, police said. One hid items in his coat and left without paying. This time the value was unknown. Police said the two drove away in a 1990s GMC Jimmy. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 610-395-1438.
