The East Penn School District’s fall 2011 community education classes are open for registration. Go to the district Web site, click on the Community tab, then Community Education to register for classes. A PDF of the class listings, including descriptions, is located on the right hand side of the page in a green box labeled Class Descriptions (PDF). Brochures can also be found in East Penn schools, at local libraries, community centers, doctor’s/dentist offices and other community locations. The registration deadline is August 21, 2011. The East Penn School District encourages new residents to register their children for the 2011-12 school year as soon as possible. Registrations are by appointment only. Nina Evans, administrative assistant for Central Registration, is taking appointments daily. The district is offering evening registration appointments slots at Eyer Middle School, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on August 9, 11, 16, 18, 23 and 25. Eyer is located at 5616 Buckeye Road in Macungie. I was also wondering why I did not get a schedule of classes. So I googled and now find out, too late, that none were sent. No wonder enrollment is down. The word certainly did not get out. I'm very disappointed. I wish I had known. more ›
