Crowds Race to See NASCAR's Tony Stewart

Fans lined the exterior of Office Depot in South Whitehall in the summer heat for a few seconds with the famous NASCAR driver Tony Stewart.

No one seemed to mind the summer heat Thursday outside the Office Depot in South Whitehall. NASCAR driver Tony Stewart was in town! Hundreds of people gathered in hopes of shaking the NASCAR driver's hand and getting his autograph. The program started later than scheduled due to a flight delay, but everyone was smiles as Stewart and the team from the Office Depot Foundation gave 4,000 backpacks to local service organizations and school districts, including Salisbury Township School District and KidsPeace. Some happy tears also were shed. Boca Raton, FL, resident Mary Wong, president of the Office Depot Foundation, was on-site to welcome Stewart, a "good friend." Through the "National Backpack Program," 400,000 backpacks have been donated …

Fans Wait for NASCAR Driver Tony Stewart's Arrival

Fans started lining up at 9 p.m. Wednesday outside Office Depot in South Whitehall to get Tony Stewart's autograph later today.

  They came from Ohio, New Jersey, New York and nearby communities. By 9 p.m. Wednesday, fans of NASCAR driver Tony Stewart started lining up outside Office Depot in South Whitehall for the chance to get his autograph later today, Aug. 2. And 300 lucky fans were able to snag the wristbands they need to get his autograph when he arrives at the store for a Back-to-School promotion. The wristbands -- distributed on a first come, first-served basis -- were doled out within 45 minutes of the store's opening this morning. "We got the last two wristbands," said Marcy Redfern, 38, of Newton, Ohio, who was in line with her 14-year-old son, Nicholas. Her two daughters and husband also made the trip, and the family planned to be at the Pocono 400 …

NASCAR Driver Tony Stewart Coming to Office Depot Thursday

NASCAR Driver Tony Stewart will present sackpacks and school supplies to area organizations -- and he'll sign autographs too -- at the Office Depot store on Thursday.

NASCAR Driver Tony Stewart is coming to South Whitehall on Thursday, Aug. 2, as part of a "Back-To-School Celebration” at the Office Depot, 480 S. Cedar Crest Blvd. Stewart, who is partnering with the Office Depot Foundation, will present sackpacks and school supplies to several area non-profit organizations and schools to help needy youngsters in the new school year. The event is part of the Office Depot Foundation’s National Backpack Program. Following the 4:05 p.m. presentation, Stewart will sign autographs for the general public.  The organizations scheduled to receive donations include: Stewart will sign autographs for 300 fans.
