Pickup truck ran red light at Brookside Road and Sauerkraut Lane, pushing car onto its side, troopers say.
Three Emmaus youths were injured -- the driver moderately -- on March 17 in a two-vehicle traffic accident in Lower Macungie Township in which their car rolled onto its side, police said. The other vehicle, a pickup truck, ran a red light, according to state police at Fogelsville. The Kia Soul driven by Thomas R. Ninesling, 16, was turning from Sauerkraut Lane onto Brookside Road about 1:22 p.m., police said. As Ninesling was in the intersection, William D. Capwell, 43, of Macungie did not stop at a red light while he was traveling south on Brookside Road. Two cars initially stopped for flashing red traffic signal in Upper Milford, but second vehicle could not avoid collision when first driver stopped again, police report.
Two people were hurt Saturday morning after their car was struck from behind at an Upper Milford Township intersection, according to police. Doris A. Zingley, 55, of Macungie was southbound on Route 100 and stopped for the red flashing light at the Route 29 intersection about 10:50 a.m. March 9, said state police at Fogelsville. A car driven by Jose A. Rivera, 38, of Allentown pulled up behind Zingley and also stopped by the former Countryside Restaurant. Zingley began to pull out with her Honda CR-V but stopped because she saw a vehicle coming south on Route 29, police said. Her car hits a utility pole along Route 29, police say.
An Easton woman was seriously injured July 25 when her car struck a utility pole in Upper Milford Township, according to state police at Fogelsville. Police gave few details, but said Gabrielle R. Grant's Nissan Altima was northbound on Route 29 near Mill Road when it went off the road and struck the pole at 4:17 p.m. They described the 20-year-old's injuries as major. Grant was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest by Emmaus Ambulance.
