Hit-and-Run Driver Sought in Upper Milford Crash

Allentown driver avoids head-on crash, but is still struck, troopers report. Other driver takes off.

Despite swerving to avoid a likely head-on collision, an Allentown-area driver was involved in a side-swipe, hit-and-run accident recently in Upper Milford Township, according to police. Fortunately, he was uninjured and his passenger received only a minor finger injury, according to state police at Fogelsville. Sergio A. Lema, 51, was traveling southbound on Route 29 near Indian Creek Road at 12:35 a.m. Feb. 1, police said. He saw an oncoming vehicle driving in his lane and braked and swerved to try to avoid a collision. However, the two vehicles side-swiped each other despite Lema steering his vehicle toward the berm, police said. Lema pulled his Chevrolet Aveo to the side of the road, but the other vehicle did not stop at the accident. …
