Let me say right off the bat, this week’s Great Escape might be more successful as a girl’s night out than a couple’s night out. A friend of mine celebrated her birthday with a dinner at The Melting Pot, 1 Broad St., Bethlehem, and while she and her husband did have a wonderful meal and a wonderful time, she said that her husband was taken aback by the fact that they were expected to cook their own food. For those who may be unaware, The Melting Pot is part of a chain of eateries that offer fondue-themed food from appetizer through dessert. A couple can purchase a four-course meal – appetizer, salad, entrée and dessert for a fixed price that ranges from about $80 to $100, depending on the particulars. $10 Martini & Manicure/Massage night Lee Gribben’s on Main 194-198 Main Street Emmaus 610-965-5772 Two years ago, Lee Gribben’s tried out a genius of an idea: on select nights, offer patrons a drink and a manicure (or a massage) for $10.  He thought it could bring added business to the restaurant as well as the salon that provides the nail technicians and masseuses. It worked, at least for the popular eating place on Main Street in Emmaus. Patrons lined up around the block for the first of what has now become a twice-monthly treat, every first and third Wednesday.
