Girl Scout Cookie Guide

Emmaus Patch Girl Scout Cookie Guide

Your guide to who is selling Girl Scout Cookies where and when in Emmaus Patch this spring.

Emmaus Patch put out a call on the Emmaus Patch Facebook page for information on who is selling Girl Scout cookies in our community and, more important, when and how to get them. Girl Scout Leader Keri Waldman was the first to answer that call, earning her and her scouts prime space in what will hopefully become a growing Guide to Girls Scout Cookies in Emmaus Patch. Waldman, who contacted Emmaus Patch by email, described herself as a Girl Scout Leader in Emmaus for a blended troop. "Our troop consists of Junior (Troop 6123) and Cadette (Troop 6056) Girl Scouts," she writes. Waldman's troops will be selling cookies at the following locations: Waldman can be contacted via email at keri.waldman@gmail.com or by phone at 484-226-6633. Troop …

Best Gas Prices in Emmaus Patch

U.S. gas prices are crashing, dropping 46 cents a gallon over the past two months. That has translated into prices below $3.50 a gallon in Emmaus Patch.

Gas prices in the United States have dropped by 10 cents in the last three weeks, according to the Lundberg Survey of fuel prices, which was released Sunday. The Associated Press reports that the average cost for a gallon of regular gasoline was $3.38.  In Emmaus Patch, the cheapest places to fill up your tank Tuesday were: Prices were considerably lower in New Jersey, with gas stations there charging $3.20 a gallon, according to figures from MapQuest. Trilby Lunberg, publisher of the Lunberg Survey, told CNN the drop in prices was due to problems at refineries being resolved, as well as a seasonal drop in demand for gasoline. The CNN report notes that the cost of gas is still -- on average -- 8 cents higher than this time last year.

Hurricane Sandy

Emmaus Patch Reflects on Sandy’s Teachings

It hasn’t always been easy watching my boys deal with Sandy this week -- starting with the myriad preparations as we got ready for her visit, followed by the scary hours of howling winds and torrential downpours Monday night, and now the still lingering aftermath of her time in the Lehigh Valley as we drive past uprooted tree after uprooted tree and try to cope with what seems like far longer than three days without electricity. It’s all been tough and it’s been a continuous learning experience for me as a parent. From the beginning, rather than try to hide the impending storm from the kids, my husband and I decided to involve them in our preparations. After all, it’s hard to cover up a bathtub full of water for very long. Today, as we …

I think though the comment about your 8 yr old, it will be impressionable and will be able to deal with this when he is an adult, like all the young children. I know I grew up in kunkletown then in walnutport and even up in kunkletown the most power was ever off was a day, if even that long. However I am used to the no water part on a well because at my grandparents place in the poconos we went …   more ›
