Emmaus Borough residents can now enjoy a newly redecorated lobby in Emmaus Borough Hall that is about a whole lot more than a fresh coat of paint. The lobby, dubbed the Emmaus Anniversary Gallery, is filled with memorabilia from the borough’s anniversary years of 1959 and 2009, as well as limited-edition prints of the original artwork created for the official borough Christmas card. The Emmaus Arts Commission gathered the keepsakes from the borough’s Bicentenial and Sesquicentennial anniversaries at the request of Emmaus Borough Council. Those who live in the Emmaus area and follow the arts scene at all know that it would be hard to accuse the Emmaus Arts Commission of sitting still. As soon as the group could check the 2013 SnowBlast Winter Festival off its "to do" list, newly elected Arts Commission President Teri Sorg-McManamon was announcing a new arts commission venture -- The Montero Summer Strings Camp for middle and elementary school students. McManamon, who also serves as SnowBlast chair, gave the community a sneak preview on the strings camp when she stood before Emmaus Borough Council at its Feb. 4 meeting to thank the council members for their continued support of the festival and the arts commission in general. Art in the Garden Rain Barrel Project and Silent Auction Raised $1515 to Benefit the Projects of Emmaus Arts Commission.
The Emmaus Arts Commission (EAC) announced the winners of the second annual Art in the Garden Rain Barrel Project and Silent Auction on July 21 during the Community Day Old-Timers Baseball Game held at Emmaus Community Park. The EAC invited artists to creatively paint rain barrels as part of a fun way to make an artistic statement while educating the community on the benefits of using rain barrels to reduce runoff and improve water quality. Local artists submitted sketches and short summaries of their intended design and those chosen volunteered their time to create beautiful works of art on 55-gallon rain barrels. The Emmaus Arts Commission's second annual Art in the Garden Rain Barrel Project and Silent Auction will come to an end on Sat., July 21 at Emmaus Community Day. The barrels have been on display in the front windows of the Clock Building since June 11. Official bid sheets are located at Emmaus Borough Hall in front of the cashier's window. Bids are being taken weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Bids start at $100 per barrel with minimum bid increments of $10. Final bids will be accepted the day of the auction on-site at Emmaus Community Park during Community Day. Auction results will be announced during the Community Day Old-Timers Baseball Game held in Community Park.

Six barrels will be on display from June 11 through July 21 and are available for purchase through Silent Auction, according to an EAC press release.
