Driver stops vehicle in middle of Buckeye Road during a domestic dispute, troopers report.
You would have to say that an Emmaus pair didn't hide their anger after they recently had it out in the middle of a busy Upper Milford Township street, according to police. State police at Fogelsville said they were dispatched Jan. 16 to a report of a disturbance in a minivan in the middle of Buckeye Road. When they arrived, police said they learned that a domestic disturbance took place. Todd Smith and Carmina Ortiz began to argue, police said. That led the driver, and police did not specify which occupant was at the wheel, to stop the vehicle in the middle of the roadway. Police said the two struck each other and cited both for harassment.

Upper Milford Township is waiting for answers from the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) about the extent of cleanup that needs to be done along Buckeye Road following a fatal accident and large diesel fuel spill, according to Township Manager Dan DeLong. Buckeye Road in Upper Milford Township has been closed since a car collided with a diesel fuel truck Sunday night, killing a Macungie man and dumping approximately 2,500 gallons of fuel oil on the roadway. “It’s a mess out there,” DeLong said, describing trenches along both sides of the road ranging from 4- to 12-feet deep. The contractors hired by the DEP have been removing the contaminated soil, DeLong explained, and yesterday were expected to make a determination as to …
