Readers Delight at Emmaus Public Library Book Sale

Community Fun Day at Lower Macungie Middle School features books, health fair.

Thanks to the Emmaus Public Library, books were everywhere at the Community Fun Day held Satuday, April 28 at Lower Macungie Middle School. The library's annual sale at LMMS is always a sure draw for readers of all ages. This year there were an estimated 18,000 books on sale, some selling for as little as 50 cents to $1. The sale wasn't the only attraction at the Community Fun Day. A Nutrition, Health, and Safety Fair took up the school's front lobby. Participants included Lehigh Valley Hospital, the Burn Prevention Foundation, Primo Produce, Domino's Pizza, and more.

Well Read Pages

The Friends of the Emmaus Public Library held a gently used book sale on Saturday, May 7.

Enjoying a book is a favorite pastime for many people. The ability to allow others to share that literature is the basis of any gently used book sale. The Emmaus Public Library held its annual book sale at Lower Macungie Middle School, on Saturday, May 7. Sponsored by the Friends of the Emmaus Public Library, the book fair will help to fund the children and teen expansion of the library. Boxes upon boxes full of books were placed on the tables and benches in the school cafeteria, with selections ranging from children's to travel  to history. Shoppers quietly moved through the rows, browsing the offering. Refreshments were provided, and reusable bags for book checkout were supplied by local orthodontist, Dr. Aejaaz A. Issa.
