Cyndi Huff-Walters took over the Spotted Dog Barkery in Emmaus in February and strives to be like Oprah Winfrey in running her dog treat business.

Finish Line Gets New Name, New Emmaus Location

A grand reopening is planned for Saturday as The Finish Line Running Store reopens with a new name at a new location at 322 Main St. in Emmaus.

The Finish Line Running Store announced to customers in early February that it would be moving to a new location in Emmaus, via the store's Facebook page. The popular retailer of fitness clothing and footwear is relocating to 322 Main St., a building commonly known to Emmaus residents at "The Clock Building." And the retailer is getting a new name -- the Emmaus Run Inn. A grand re-opening is scheduled for Saturday, according to handwritten signs in the window of The Finish Line's former home at 10 S. Fourth St. and a press release from the Main Street Partners. The grand opening will be from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., with a ribbon cutting at 6:30 p.m. Saturday. I could be wrong, but I believe it has something to do with the national shoe-retailer Finish Line. The chain was unable to ship to our home due to a "pending lawsuit within 50 miles" of my address. Again, that's just my speculation, but it would explain the name change....   more ›

Cottage in Emmaus to Close its Doors For Good

Cottage owner Emma Ville announces on Facebook over the weekend that the business will shut down on March 23.

Cottage owner Emma Ville made a “bittersweet” announcement about the future of the popular Emmaus gift shop on Facebook on Saturday. When Cottage's lease is up later this month, the business, located at 379 Main St., will be shutting down for good. Here’s what Ville posted on Facebook this weekend: “Hi Cottage friends. It's a bittersweet day here at Cottage. We have decided that it's time to move on to new pastures as our lease comes to an end. It's been a wonderful few years, making friends, watching the world go by from the porch on summer days and spending time with all the other lovely businesses in Emmaus. Farmhouse Restaurant Will Reopen in Fall, Family Member Says

The Farmhouse Restaurant in Emmaus is not shutting its doors for good, contrary to weekend newspaper report.

A member of the family that owns The Farmhouse Restaurant in Emmaus says that the restaurant is not closed for good, contrary to a report that appeared in The Morning Call on Sunday. Michelle Quier, who was running The Farmhouse before it closed for renovations in January, says that in spite of what customers may have been hearing, the restaurant is not out of business. Her family still owns it and plans to reopen the restaurant in the fall, Quier told Patch. Some of the changes customers can expect when the restaurant reopens, Quier says, include the fact that she will no longer be running The Farmhouse; another member of her family will be in charge.
