Philadelphia Eagles Quarterback Situation Crazy

The Philadelphia Eagles have announced that Quarterback Michael Vick is returning for another year.

It was the last game of the season, a horrible loss to the New York Giants. And Philadelphia Eagles Quarterback Michael Vick, returning for the first time in more than a month after injury, had once again been battered and bruised. But this time, Vick lashed out: blasting his teammates for a lack of effort and heart. We all thought that was the last Birds fans would ever see of the controversial QB. After all, Vick had spent most of the season injured. And when he was on the field, he was producing too many costly turnovers. He was due a bonus if kept on the roster. And about $15 million if he played next season. So everyone thought Vick would be cut right after the Super Bowl. Well, guess who's back? New coach Chip Kelly made a move that …

Ravens or 49ers: Who Gets Pa.'s Support?

Facebook data shows Pennsylvanians are divided in their support of this year's Super Bowl teams

The NFL season ended in disappointment for Pennsylvania teams but Keystone Staters still have their favorite in the Super Bowl. It just depends on where you live, according to an analysis of fan data on Facebook. Which team are you cheering for? Tell us in the comments section below. Picture the state of Pennsylvania and imagine a line drawn on a diagonal from northwest to southeast. Folks who live north of that imaginary line are rooting for San Francisco. Fans to the south of the line are favoring the Baltimore Ravens. That's according to Facebook data, which shows a "country divided more or less by geography, with 49ers fans dominating the West and the Ravens being the most popular in counties in the mid-Atlantic and Southern states." …

4 Reasons I Hate Super Bowl XLVII

It might be the biggest game of the year, but it has two hate-worthy teams.

It’s Super Bowl Sunday, but I’m just not feeling the excitement this year. Sure, it hurts that my Giants didn’t get to defend their title in the playoffs this year. But usually, I can develop some kind of rooting interest in the Super Bowl, even if it’s just out of sheer hatred for one of the participants. Not this year. I hate both of these teams. A lot. And fairly equally. Honestly, to me, the only way this game could be worse is if the Dallas Cowgirls were representing the NFC. But the Forty-Whiners are almost as bad. On the AFC side, I know a lot of people are saying, “At least it isn’t the Patriots.” Sorry, but I don’t agree. I don’t hold the same contempt for Bill Belichick that a lot of people seem to. True, I do have a bit of a …

Daryl, way to fill up an area within the Patch. Opinion is such a challenging task in the area of journalism. Problem is, no matter what you write, you are always wrong in the eyes of some. No question there are some real 'shady characters' in the NFL, no more shadier than those who are caught cheating, lying and scamming. But in society today, c'mon, it's not THAT bad! I do take issue with …   more ›
