This has to do with a bunch of people talking crap about things they don't know about. The pigs and the media articles make it look like the man is friends with sand hangs out with teens. The kid involved here had no where to go, and this man was helping him out, helped him get a job, and got him working towards obtaining a GED. I'm sick of all the loud mouth BS from people on here who read the BS articles but know no facts, nor do they know the people involved. This man didn't beat anyone up. It's not the type of thing he does. Those of you on here who have something to say about this, you should gets the real facts, because the article here only states allegations, not facts.

See, the wonderful world of technology, and the stupid incriminating text messages you and your buddies were sending to the defendants that night were never deleted, and the phones are admitted as evidence. Tattoos aren't evidence, but the phone messages are. You kids are as stupid as we all thought. Those messages aren't going to help your sorry case of trying to play the perfectly innocent little teenagers that did nothing wrong. What also won't help you are the 2 videos in evidence, showing your so called perfectly innocent buddies and most likely you on there, 11 of you in total, trying to jump a kid at his house earlier that day. And the other video that shows your boys skidding to a stop in front of the accused house, and clearly screaming we are going to kill you in there! Just keep in mind, tattoos only help identify people. Videos and text messages incriminate people. You kids are really stupid!!

I am disappointed to hear the district attorney making it a civil matter knowing that court has no teeth! THIS IS without a SHADOW of a DOUBT CRIMINAL! Lets imagine for one minute that these people were Black or Spanish or from the wrong side of any random track: what would be the outcry from the community about a MIGHT have access to a pension or it's civil matter for the township to pursue at their expense with no hopes of payment? Plus the insurance company should pay? Why?
There is no way these people did not willingly, wantingly & knowingly commit theft thru embezzlement. JAIL, confiscation of their pensions, property etc....FULL RESTITUTIOJ & COSTS & FINES!!! I am TIRED (ANGRY) that this type of "WHITE COLLAR" crime is so accepted. There are more than one way to rob a person, had this couple taken a gun in their hands what would be civil about it then??? Sadly, I see quite a bit of this in the headlines for the areas' small municipalities...I for one am a bit nervous about tax checks being made out to an individual's name rather than to the township or borough paid...Certainly it is naïve to think that people are honest, integral, etc. before it is proven (which circumstances & conditions could also change in a person's life ) One of the ways to keep the horse in the barn is to shut the door & keep it secured before it gets out!!!

I was notorious for doing this and my parents even worried about me and would call/text. But I would NEVER let it go for more than a few hours - definitely not days. So, Mary Anne I hope that you are right and he has taken it to another level about not checking in, but it just doesn't add up. On the news story last night they said that he never did anything like this - that he was very responsible. Hopefully this ends well, but I just have a bad feeling about all of this. Additionally, I do not understand when this happens to a person they are always told to go to civil court. A court with no teeth. I have judgements for $10s of thousands for work not done or not done properly! It is insane that a contractor feels they should be paid in advance for something...materials, work or services not preformed or not on sight immediately (or not ordered in the name of the contracteee & scheduled for delivery for the contractee)! Yet that entire industry feels that is how it is done! Personally, I was ripped off by a contractor rescently for over $8K from supplies that never came here & work that was substandard & had to be redone! I think it is criminasl & am glad to see now the district attorney is taking an active interest in criminal charges! My only concern is that the man's name is Diaz...if it was Smith would they have told them what I get told...File in civil court & get a judgement you can not collect...Criminal is the only way to go in these matters...that court has teeth!

All people have to do when they get ripped off like this is call the police and file theft charges. The sad and sickening part is they do have video cameras around the place, someone who has access to those cameras recording device would be the person I'd like to investigate.

you know what people this starts in the home. Parents of today think they're raising their children…Read More right when they're not. Parents don't monitor their cell phone activities, their Internet activities, they trust all their children's friends, give them drivers licenses right at 16, let their kids date at very young ages. So you think a 14 or even a 16 year old is old enough and mature enough emotionally and mentally to handle a romantic relationship? No especially in the world we live in today. So many parents have their heads stuck in the sand. The filth that comes out of the mouth of kids in at school....as well as kids having promiscuous sex all over the place. No morals deteriorates the minds and decisions kids have and make today. The Emmaus high school is a mess. As I stated before it starts in the home and some of these kids come from bad broken families. The ones that I have seen create or are a part of some of these bad experiences and just those kids. Although I do think there are many other reasons it generally has a lot to do with what the parents are teaching their children at home. And unfortunately the ones that are the bad eggs put a bad influence on the others. There is so much peer pressure in high school...teaching your kids to respect people in general goes a long way.

Some people think unless you commit murder, rape, or steal everything is free reign. What you help fill a growing teenage mind's head with will ultimately be part of their personality for life. Garbage in garbage out.... set some moral standards with your kids people. Love them and talk to them. What you don't know about them will hurt you and them ultimately. Get involved...unfortunately the people reading this are the ones that are involved in tune. Kids at this age try to hide everything....they lie to get what they want even right to their parents. Kids are so fragile mentally especially in the teenage years of high school....this is when they need the support of loving parents the most.

Shawn when did you grow up, we did all of the things you stated at those ages. We also got our…Read More permits at 16 and a week later, even a day later could have held the actual license. Children are not as stupid as society thinks they are, however the longer we treat them like they are still babies the more irresponsible things they will do because most of the time children want attention when they act out, and treating them like babies instead of laying the law out to them is giving them the attention they want. Think about it, if we could go kill our worst enemy and only have to give the victims family an apology wouldn't most of us as adults do that? No we know we have consequences I know thats what stops me from doing anything stupid.
