Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Church

One of the most beautiful churches in Upper Milford Township, with a steeple that can be seen for miles around, Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Church was built in 1876. However, the congregation celebrated its 250th anniversary in 2008. The church, not the building, is one of the oldest in Lehigh County. This is the third edifice to stand on the site.

It all began in 1758, with a log church built on the same high ground along the Kings Highway, the main road coming north from Philadelphia. Services were in German until 1895, when the first English service was conducted. The last German service in the church was in 1945.
