St. Peter's Union Church
Drag box to select area
This church is located in the southwest corner of Upper Milford Township. St. Peter's Union Church is unusual because its congregation includes members of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and the United Church of Christ, who worship together under the leadership of one pastor. Members of St. Peter's say denominational labels are not as important as doing the Lord's work. The cemetery dates to 1773, making it much older than the church that eventually grew next to it. The church is one of only a few union churches founded by German settlers that remain in operation today. Services in German continued until 1930. The church includes facilities for banquet, wedding receptions and meetings.
