Emmaus Ambulance Corps

Patient care is the top priority of the Emmaus Ambulance Corps. It provides round-the-clock ambulance coverage, with Advance Life Support service, to Emmaus, eastern Upper Milford Township and western Salisbury Township. It responds to about 1,800 calls a year. In the borough, its average response time is four minutes. Its 42-member staff includes both paid personnel and volunteers. It has three emergency ambulances, all paramedic-equipped, and six full-time paramedics. Like the fire department next door, the ambulance corps is a department of the borough of Emmaus. But only 10 percent of its financing comes from borough tax dollars. Most of its revenue comes from billing. Annual subscriptions save residents money when they need an ambulance and help support the corps.
