Enjoy Bluegrass, BBQ and Beer Saturday

The Second Annual Bluegrass in the Park Festival kicks off at 10 a.m. Saturday in Emmaus Community Park.

The Second Annual Bluegrass in the Park Festival, sponsored by the Special Entertainment Commission, will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday against a backdrop of sunny skies, according to the National Weather Service.

Indeed, forecasters are predicting virtually ideal weather for the day-long event in Emmaus Community Park, calling for highs of 71 degrees.

Expect all of the things that made the original Emmaus Bluegrass Festival great –one again there will be a wide variety of arts and crafts vendors, face painting and other fun things for the kid types to do – plus a whole lot more.

The Special Entertainment Commission sent out a “breaking news alert” on its Facebook page when Grumpy's Bar-B-Que signed on as one of the food vendors for this year’s event, causing a good deal of pre-event buzz.

Also new this year, according to the SEC Facebook page, is a Musikfest-like beer pavilion, made possible through the help of the Emmaus Main Street Partners who are bringing in their beer truck.

There is also a football event happening at the park on Saturday, which should add to the festival-like atmosphere.

Then, of course, there's the bluegrass. Here’s the final band schedule:
