Hot Tunes, Cold Suds, Sidewalk Scribbling This Week

Here's a look at the week ahead in Emmaus and Upper Milford Township.

Summer in Emmaus continues to sizzle, with a mix of outdoor fun for all ages coming up this week.

The work week is packed with borough meetings, with the Shade Tree Commission, the General Administration Committee and the Planning Commission all set to meet. Shade Tree meets Tuesday at 4 p.m., GA Wednesday at 9 a.m. and the Planning Commission Thursday at 7 p.m.  All three groups meet in Borough Hall.

Shoppers, music lovers, and beer aficionados alike will get a treat on Saturday. Things kick off in the morning and then run throughout the day with the Second Saturday Sidewalk Sale and Music on the Triangle. Then, folks can plan to head over to the Arts Pavilion in Emmaus Community Park at about 6 p.m. to quench their thirst in the Bier Garten.

The Emmaus Arts Commission will run a unique family activity/fundraiser on Sunday in Triangle Park called “Chalk the Walk,” in which participants can “buy” a section of the sidewalk on which to create their very own chalk mural.

Then, the week, and the weekend wraps up with the next installment of the Summer Concert Series in Community Park with a performance by The Midnight Special Band beginning at 6 p.m.
