EHS Boys Soccer Teams to Hold car Wash July 17

Green Hornet Soccer Association is running the fundraiser at The Burgery Company on Sunday.

Here’s a great opportunity to spruce up your car and support the Emmaus High School varsity and junior varsity boys' soccer teams at the same time.

The Green Hornet Soccer Association is running a car wash on Sunday, July 17 from noon until 3 p.m. at The Burgery Company, 1458 Chestnut Street. The costs is $5 per car and the players will be washing the cars, according to Donna Brown, a member of the Green Hornet association.

“We are the parent-run booster club for the two boys' teams,” Brown said in an email. “We use the money we raise through the car wash, snack stand, soccer clinic we run, as well as other fundraisers to help defray the costs of the teams throughout the year.

“Things like practice shirts, goalie gear, assistant coaches salaries, and awards are just some of the things we fund,” she added.

Both teams have tryouts in the beginning of August, start practices immediately after that and begin scrimmages in late August, Brown said. The official season kicks off at the in September, with conference playoffs at the end of October.

If it rains on Sunday, the car wash will be held at the same time and place on Sunday, July 24.

I am concerned. Emmaus is a part of your constituency and to the best of my knowledge you have notRead More had a Town Hall Meeting or any public meeting in this area. Why? Safety is as important in Lehigh County as in other counties and programs such as this should be made available to everyone.
