BAND OF THE WEEK-JAB

Get to know your local bands. This is a weekly blog featuring local bands from the Lehigh Valley and beyond!

Introducing...JAB!!!

JAB  was formed in the fall of 2012 with one goal in mind-"Bring back the 80's". Comprised of 3 local Lehigh Valley, PA musicians, JAB has set out to do just that. Covering a wide array of  80's rock/hair metal/metal classics, going to a JAB show is like an awesome blast to the past, when the music was the greatest and the parties were even greater. JAB has set out to cover as much of the music as possible to include the likes of: Cinderella, Poison, Winger, Joan Jett, Faster Pussycat, LA Guns, Saxon, Rush, Lita Ford, Fastway, Warrant, Alice Cooper, Accept, Judas Priest, Dio, Quiet Riot, and that is just for starters.
Two of JAB's members are seasoned veterans in the Lehigh Valley music scene and have been playing for numerous years. Both Bryan and Joe also play with the internationally recognized AC/DC tribute band, CACD. Joe has been playing with Lehigh Valley bands for many years to include, Rubik and the Cubes, Bang Bang Betty, SwitchBack, and HeadKnocker. Bryan played his first show in the Lehigh Valley in 1979 at the age of 13. His band, Alien, competed in a battle of the bands in downtown Allentown, Pa. against the likes of Windjammer and Cinnamon, they took 3rd place. He has been hooked ever since and has played with many Lehigh Valley bands over a 34 year career to include: Alien, Ultra, Zyndrom, Diamondz, SIG, Illusion, Electric Angel, Bang Bang Betty, SwitchBack, and HeadKnocker. Bryan played in bands all thru the heyday of the 80's and is a well seasoned 80's rocker. Bryan and Joe have been playing in bands together since early 2007 and have become a fine tuned machine.
JAB is very proud and pleased to introduce a fresh, young face to the music scene, bassist, Andy Stewart. Andy is an awesome fresh compliment to the band and brings an avenue to introduce a younger age group to this awesome music. Aside from being an avid bassist and vocalist, Andy is also an accomplished violinist and plays the guitar as well. She is also an avid fan of Rush and prog rock. This, mixed with Bryan's 80's style could make for some awesome originals when the band sets out to write. Fresh out of the School of Rock, Andy met Bryan and Joe thru a mutual acquaintance for a different music project. When the project fell thru, JAB was formed. The rest will be history in the making.
JAB's goal is bring the awesome music of the 80's and the atmosphere that goes along with it to everyone that loves and appreciates this killer era in music. The long term goal of the band is to take this music and atmosphere internationally to the 80's "Wild Childs" all over the world. The ultimate goal of  JAB is to start collaborating and writing original material. With the widely mixed influences in this band, that could prove to be very interesting.
JAB invites anyone that loves this era to put on your spandex or leather, tease your hair up, pile on some make-up, grab your friends and come travel with us back to that time that will live on forever because.......
"IF YOU LOVE THE 80's, YOU'LL LOVE  JAB!!"

Question 1: What three things would you tell someone that has never been to a JAB show to entice/convince them to come to one of your shows?

1) JAB plays music only from the 80's Rock/Metal era, when the music was great and the parties were even greater.
2) Going to a JAB show is FULLY interactive. If you loved the 80's, you will love JAB. The band encourages the audiences to break out their 80's attire and come sing along at the top of your lungs.
3) JAB has a hot, talented 18yr old female bass player/vocalist....need we say more?

Question 2: What are three future goals of JAB?

1) To become the best 80's Rock/Metal band around.
2) To play internationally.
3) To write original material (in the 80's style) and cut a cd in the near future
