When Does the Allentown Fair Start?

Toby Keith, John Mayer and Jeff Dunham all part of the line-up of this year's Allentown Fair performers.

The Great Allentown Fair returns this week to the Allentown fairgrounds, bringing performers ranging from country music legends to the world's most successful ventriloquist.


Toby Keith, Jeff Dunham and John Mayer are all among the headliners at this year's fair, which kicks off Tuesdayand runs until Labor Day.

Performers scheduled for the fair's grandstand shows include:

  • Tuesday— Singer-songwriterJohn Mayer, with 2012 American Idol winner Phillip Phillips, Tuesday.
  • Wednesday— Teen pop stars Austin Mahone and Bridgit Mendler.
  • Thursday— Grammy winning country act The Zac Brown Band.
  • Friday— Country music singer Luke Bryan.
  • Saturday — Toby Keith brings his Hammer Down Tour to the fair.
  • Sunday — Jeff Dunham and his crew of puppets return to the fair.
  • Monday— The fair closes with its traditional bang, courtesy ofThe J&J Demolition Derby.

But of course the fair is much more than just these headliners. On-going, weekly long events include the swimming pigs of Robinson's Pig Paddling Porkers, the Wolves of the World Show, and Animals That Built America.

Admission to the fair is FREE for everyone on Tuesday, 
as well from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

Otherwise, it's $6 at the gate, and free for kids under 12. Seniors can get a $4 discount after 2 p.m. on Wednesday. You can ride rides at the fair all day for a $15 wristband if you buy it in advance. Otherwise, it's $22. 

Fair hours are: 
  • Tuesday, 4 p.m. to 11 p.m.
  • Wednesday to Sunday, noon to 11 p.m.
  • Monday, noon to 10 p.m.
