• “The Help,” written by Kathryn Stockett –
  The story of African American maids working for whites in Mississippi in the 1960s. Two Emmaus Patch Thumbs Up. “I was sad when I was finished, didn't want to say goodbye to the characters.”
• “Zeitoun,” written by Dave Eggers –
  The true story of a Muslim family's experiences in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Two Emmaus Patch Thumbs Up. “An amazing, award-winning story.”
• “Unbroken,” written by Lauren Hillenbrand –
  A biography of Louis Zamperini, an Olympic athlete and World War II hero. One Emmaus Patch Thumbs Up. “Awesome.”

• “Fifty Shades of Grey,” written by E.L. James –
  One Emmaus Patch Thumbs Down. “Sucked. Poorly written and a waste of time!”
