The Upper Milford Youth Association's new lacrosse program had its first practice session on Sunday afternoon in Lenape Park.
The boys and girls signed up for the program were introduced to the basic skills needed to play the game of lacrosse, including cradling, throwing and catching, while using a tennis ball. They also got some practice picking up grounds balls.
The kids were sent home with their new lacrosse sticks and encouraged to get in some practice time at home before next week's practice.
For this introductory year, Upper Milford Youth Association will run lacrosse in a clinic style. Those practices will be held on Sundays through November, weather permitting. For more information, visit the UMYA website.
