Freshman Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston won the 79th Heisman Trophy, as the top player in college football in 2013.

Parkland High School graduate Andre Williams, who was one of six finalists for the most prestigious individual award in American collegiate sports, finished fourth in the balloting.

The Boston College running back was the country’s leading rusher with 2,102 yards in 329 carries—a 6.4 per carry average—and 17 touchdowns. For that effort, Williams won the Doak Walker Award for being the best collegiate running back in the country.

This week, Williams graduated from Boston College a semester early majoring in applied psychology and human development with a 3.0 grade point average.

The last football game of his college career will come at 12:30 p.m. New Year’s Eve when Boston College plays Arizona in the AdvoCare V100 Bowl—formerly the Independence Bowl—in Shreveport, La. It will be televised on ESPN.

At 19, Winston, a red-shirt freshman, is the youngest Heisman Trophy winner in history. His Florida State Seminoles will play the Auburn Tigers in the National Championship Game on Jan. 6.
