Superintendent Quantifies ‘Value-Add’ of East Penn Students

East Penn Superintendent of Schools Thomas L. Seidenberger shared a document with the school board at the Feb. 13 meeting, highlighting the many ways East Penn student contribute to the local community.

The East Penn Superintendent of Schools told the East Penn Board of School Directors at the Feb. 13 school board meeting that he wanted to take some time to look at educational spending from a slightly different angle – the value added to the community by students.

“Each elementary school and each of the middle schools and the high school are deeply engaged in doing wonderful things in the community and wonderful projects,” he said. “Our kids are investing back into the community and I am so proud of our staff members and our students who are doing so much.

“I want to make it known to the community that our kids just don’t take, they give back too. We are very proud of what our kids do,” he said.

Seidenberger distributed a document to each of the school board members, highlighting various “value-add” activities from each of the schools in the district. The list, which can be accessed by clicking on the PDF above, is by no means comprehensive, Seidenberger said, but just a sampling of the activities and projects that are going on in the East Penn School District.
