Lincoln Spring Festival Offers More Than Just fun and Games

There will be food, prizes, face painting and plant sales too.

School’s 2011 Spring Festival will take place on Wednesday, June 8 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. rain or shine. The much-anticipated annual event will happen on the Lincoln field and playground weather permitting and be moved inside the school if it rains.

The Spring Festival will feature a variety of old-fashioned carnival games like a clothespin drop, a beanbag toss and a hockey challenge.

Plus, there will games and activities with a decidedly Lincoln twist, such as Lincoln’s much-loved “Let’s Make a Deal” game, and “Splash Zone” and "Lincoln Plinko," both making their debut at this year’s festival.

Back by popular demand will be the trackless train, which was chugging non-stop at the 2010 Spring Festival, as well as the greyhound rescue. New additions to this year’s entertainment include a wandering juggler and a caricature artist.

Some sports “celebrities” will also be making an appearance at the 2011 festival: Wrestling fans will want to come out to meet tagteam champions Sebastian Cruz and “Kekoa” the Flyin’ Hawaiian, up-and-coming grapplers who will hang out for the night, signing autographs and posing for photos.

Beyond enjoying traditional carnival fare such as funnel cake and fried Oreos, festival goers can grab a slice of pizza from Joes Pizza II or cool off with a cup of Italian ice from the Emmaus .

Members of the community are encouraged to come out and join the fun.
