Here are some highlights of what's happening in East Penn School District this week.

  1. Not boring, just Board. The East Penn School Board meets Monday at 7:30 p.m. in the District Administration Building. Stay tuned for Patch coverage.
  2. There will be a lot of authorized gum chewing going on. That’s because it’s PSSA Week in East Penn, which means many kids in grades 3 through 8 will be taking state standardized testing. And, one way some teachers help the kids to concentrate, is by letting them chew gum during the tests.
  3. A Big Double Header on Tuesday Night. First, the Jefferson Elementary School PTO meeting meets at 6:30 p.m., followed by Lincoln Elementary School PTO at 7 p.m.
  4. Blondes will be taking center stage at the high school. Or at least one will. The Emmaus High School production of Legally Blonde opens on Wednesday.
  5. Practice Makes Perfect. Eyer Concert Band after school rehearsal from 2:30 to 4 p.m. on Thursday.
