Emmaus Residents Earn Spring 2012 Dean's List Status

Local students achieve academic honors at colleges and universities for Spring 2012 semester.

Many students from Emmaus Patch have been cited by their colleges and universities for achievement:

  • Two Emmaus residents were named to the Dean’s List at Villanova University: Katharine Smolinski, who is is studying Comprehensive Science in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and Patrick Topper, who is studying Accountancy and Information Systems in the Villanova School of Business To qualify, for Dean’s List at Villanova, the student must be a matriculated full-time student and earn a semester grade point average of at least 3.5.
  • Maria Gagliardi, of Emmaus, was named to the Dean's List at University of the Sciences in Philadelphia. Selection for this award is based on completing and passing all assigned courses with no grade below a "C" and attaining an academic average of at least 3.4 for courses taken in the spring semester of 2012. Gagliardi is a pharmacology and toxicology student.

  • Kyle Gable, of Emmaus, was recognized for outstanding academic performance by Elizabethtown College and named to the Spring 2012 Dean's List. Gable lives in Emmaus.
  • Two Emmaus residents were named to the Dean’s List at the University of Delaware: Stephen Rosenkrantz and Lisa Stilo. To meet eligibility requirements for the Dean's List, a student must be enrolled full-time and earn a GPA of 3.33 or above (on a 4.0 scale) for the semester.
  • Two Emmaus residents were named to the Dean’s List at Wilkes University: Lauren Gunn and Kristofer Rivers. To be named to the Dean's List, students must obtain a minimum 3.4 GPA and carry at least 12 credits.
  • John Mayersky, of Emmaus, was named to Delaware Valley College Dean's List.
  • Tate Klidonas, of Emmaus, was named to the University of Hartford Dean's List.
  • Rachel Loven, of Emmaus, was named to the Dean's List at Lafayette College. To qualify for Dean's List, a student has achieved at least a 3.6 semester grade point average out of a possible 4.0.
  • Emmaus resident Grace Baillie has been named to the Dean's List at James Madison University. To qualify, students must carry at least 12 graded credit hours and earn a GPA of between 3.5 and 3.899. Baillie is majoring in communication sciences and disorders.
  • Erin E. Maurer, of Emmaus, has been named to the Dean's List for the spring 2012 semester at the University of Vermont. Maurer is a first-year student Exercise and Movement Sciences major in the College of Nursing & Health Sciences. To be named to the Dean's List, students must have a grade-point average of 3.0 or better and rank in the top 20 percent of their class in their respective college or school.
  • Two Emmaus residents earned Dean’s List honors at the University of Scranton: Anthony Gulotta, a freshman undeclared major in Scranton's Kania School of Management and Mark Lechmanik, a senior economics major Scranton's Kania School of Management. A student must have a grade point average of 3.5 or better with a minimum number of credit hours to make the Dean's List.
  • Bellarmine University named Emmaus resident Michael Bender to the Spring 2012 Dean's List. Bender is a sophomore majoring in business administration. Bellarmine's Dean's List recognizes students who receive a grade point average of 3.5 or above on a 4.0 scale.
  • Michelle Hoppes, of Emmaus, has been placed on the Gettysburg College Dean's Honor List for outstanding academic achievement in Spring 2012. Students with a quality point average of 3.60 or higher (on a 4.0 scale) for a semester's work are placed on the College's Dean's Honor List.
  • Brittany Fritz, of Emmaus, was named to the Dean's List for the Spring 2012 semester at Clarion University of Pennsylvania. Students must earn a grade point average of 3.5 for placement on the dean's list.
  • The following local students were named to the Dean's List at Lycoming College: Joseph Bell, of Emmaus, a recently graduated business and economics major and Alecia Peters, of Emmaus, a recently graduated psychology major.
  • Kelsey Buxton, of Emmaus, a sophomore at Millersville University of Pennsylvania, has been named to the Dean's List for the Spring 2012 semester. The 1,382 students named to Millersville University's spring 2012 Dean's List earned a semester grade-point-average of 3.50 or higher and attempted at least 12 credits of course work.
  • Bradley Walz, of Emmaus, earned Dean’s List honors at Widener University in Chester, Pa. The Dean's List recognizes full-time students who earned a grade point average of 3.50 and above for the semester.
  • Brittany Ferrizzi achieved Dean's List Honors at Lock Haven University for the Spring 2012 semester. Ferrizzi, a resident of Emmaus, is a sophomore studying Sport Administration. The Dean's Honor List, prepared at the end of each semester, recognizes those students who have achieved academic distinction. To qualify for the Dean's List, the student must have earned a GPA of at least 3.5 in 12 hours of letter grades.
  • Emmaus resident Elizabeth Weber was named to the Dean’s List for the 2012 Spring semester at Messiah College. Weber is a junior majoring in sustainability studies. Dean's list is earned by receiving a 3.6 GPA or higher on a 4.0 scale.
