Emmaus Homecoming Pep Rally Fires up the Crowd

Add your favorite pep rally, bonfire and homecoming photos to ours! Anybody have a shot of the golf carts?

Special to Patch By Chrissy Cilento, Emmaus High School Senior

Two years ago, Emmaus High School changed the time of its Homecoming Pep Rally to the night before the game. Instead of being excused from second period to go cheer on classmates and sports teams, now students come in the evening to amp up their Emmaus spirit.

This year's Homecoming Pep Rally was held on Thursday, Oct. 18, in the EHS stadium.

Despite the change in time and a slight decline in turnout, the pep rallies have otherwise remained the same. The emcees are still whacky, the band still plays, the dance team performs as usual and there's all sorts of cheering for the football teams.
This year the pep rally was emceed by seniors Bobby Marsh, Clement Decrop, Seth Workman and Kristyan Koenig.

The boys drove in on golf carts as usual, did all sorts of flips and gymnastics tricks, and did a great job of getting everyone pumped for the Homecoming football game. Several of them were also wearing ridiculously short shorts, which helped keep the audience involved and attentive.

Besides getting everyone all pepped up, the winners of the Homecoming "best of" competition were announced and the members of the Homecoming Court were introduced.

Best smile: Megan Martignetti and Adam Kita

Most athletic: Sarah Kazmierski and Andrew Kerson

Class clown: Franny Schaeffer and Cameron Kreiger

Homecoming Queen and King: Sarah Kazmierski and Andrew Kerson

After everyone was bleeding green and gold, officials lit the bonfire, which provided some much needed warmth, and was a perfect way to wrap up a very spirited night.
