East Penn School District Closed Friday
Winter storm socking the Lehigh Valley causes East Penn School District to announce school closure for Friday, Jan. 3, 2014.
With a winter storm warning in effect until 1 p.m. Friday, according to the National Weather Service, and forecasters predicting as much as 8 inches of snow for the Lehigh Valley by the time all is said and done, East Penn School District has made the decision to remain closed on Friday, Jan. 3.
The district began informing parents and caregivers of the closure via robocall on Thursday night.
This first snowstorm of 2014, which walloped the northeast throughout the day on Thursday, caused East Penn to dismiss students early on Thursday, also canceling Thursday afternoon and evening activities.
