East Penn School Board Approves Preliminary Budget

The district will seek exceptions to raise taxes above the standard index, but the process is only beginning.

At the East Penn School Board meeting tonight, board members approved the preliminary budget, which relies on seeking exceptions to exceed the tax index of 1.4 percent.

But board members stressed there is still plenty of time to cut the budget and reduce the tax increase before final approval in June.
