Chinese Principal Visits East Penn School District

Principal Li Ming, of Shijiazhuang Ning Yuan Primary School in Heibei Province, China is visiting East Penn School District as the guest of Willow Lane principal Anthony Moyer.

East Penn Superintendent Thomas L. Seidenberger yielded the floor to Willow Lane principal Anthony Moyer during his superintendent's report at Monday night's East Penn school board meeting.

The reason? To allow Moyer to present to the board a special guest being hosted by the East Penn School District -- Principal Li Ming, of Shijiazhuang Ning Yuan Primary School in Heibei Province, China.

Ming, who spoke through a translator, is visiting as the guest of principal Anthony Moyer. Moyer will visit Ming's school in China in April.

Ming invited East Penn administrators and the members of the school board to join Moyer on his trip to China.

"We will welcome Dr. Moyer to China in April," Ming said. "I think we can learn from each other and improve (our schools) together through the communication."

After Ming addressed the board, Seidenberger and School Board President presented Ming with an Emmaus High School sweatshirt and baseball cap.

Ming began his visit to East Penn with a special welcome assembly at Willow Lane on Monday that included traditional Chinese dances, musical performances and a red Chinese dragon made by 3rd, 4th and 5th graders at Willow Lane.

Moyer said Ming will be visiting other East Penn schools during the remainder of his visit.
