Supervisors cut Vera Cruz man More Slack on Sewer Hookup

Township Manager Dan DeLong tells the Upper Milford Board of Supervisors to delay taking official action against Vera Cruz resident for failing to comply with sewer ordinance.

Manager Dan DeLong recommended at last night’s  Board of Supervisors meeting that the board hold off on taking official action against a Vera Cruz resident for failing to comply with a township sewer hookup ordinance.

DeLong reported that he had had a “lengthy conversation” with the resident, who is the only homeowner among the 90 households in the sewer project subdivision known as “Vera Cruz Area I” who failed to respond to any communication related to the sewer project.

“They have a desire to move forward,” DeLong said. “We’ve put them in touch with the authorities that can give them assistance and get them on track.

“I really expect that they will comply. But the first point of the deal that was supposed to happen didn’t happen. I think the board should wait on enforcement,” he said. “I think that they will come around.”

The resident in question was the subject of a lengthy discussion at the supervisors’ March 1 meeting. At that time, the supervisors decided to have township staff try to contact the resident one more time each by phone, by mail and in person before beginning legal proceedings.
