Republican Roger Reis, 69, a Lower Macungie Township commissioner since 2009, has announced he will run for re-election, according to a story in the Morning Call.
Reis is a Realtor and retired Pennsylvania state trooper who holds a bachelor's degree in administration of justice from the Pennsylvania State University and a master's degree in public administration from Kutztown University, it said.
Reis joins three other Republican candidates who have declared their intentions for the three commissioners' seats that will be up for grabs this November. Current Commissioner President Ron Eichenberg, 67, is running as are Ron Beitler, 34, and Brian Higgins, 40.
Commissioner Ryan Conrad, whose term also expires at the end of 2013, has not yet said whether he will run for re-election.
The Pennsylvania primary election is scheduled for May 21.
